Power and Authorization
Power and authorization are like a badge and a gun. The badge symbolizes the official right to act, while the gun supplies the practical force needed to enforce those decisions.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Shepherd’s Note
Power is not something we grasp, it is something we receive. The authority we have in Christ is not about control, it is about love. The Shepherd’s note here is this: when you know who you are in Christ, you do not have to prove yourself. You can walk in quiet confidence, knowing that the One who holds all authority is holding you.
