Friends

Enjoy time with friends — fellowship, koinonia.

“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising GOD and enjoying the favor of all the people.”
— Acts 2:46–47 (NIV)

Shepherd’s Note

Acts 2 describes the first church at its healthiest, and the picture is surprisingly ordinary: bread broken in homes, meals eaten together, hearts glad and sincere. That is koinonia, a fellowship too deep for mere networking and too warm for mere meetings. GOD did some of His best work in that chapter around tables, where friendship became a place of praise and people outside the faith noticed something attractive. Time with friends is not a break from the Christian life. Handled with gratitude, it is the Christian life, enjoyed at walking pace, with good people GOD has given you.
