Purpose
Christ lived and suffered in this world for a purpose and so do we.
I have struggled a lot with what my purpose is. And to be honest, I still do. But the fact is, Jesus came to this earth for a purpose. We were not created on accident, or for nothing. We have a purpose, whether we understand it or not. GOD has a reason.
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
Shepherd’s Note
First Peter does not call suffering good in itself. It calls us to watch how Christ carried it, with purpose, without revenge, trusting the Father who judges justly. Your life is not a random series of accidents waiting for meaning to be pasted on later. You were called, and the road of that calling runs through ordinary obedience as much as through hardship. When a season feels wasted, look to His steps before you judge your own. Purpose is often found not by escaping the road, but by walking it with Him.
