Doing
You don’t have to do anything, Jesus has done it all already.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Shepherd’s Note
Romans 8 opens with the verdict every tired conscience needs to hear first: no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Not less condemnation if you improve, and not condemnation postponed until your next failure. None. You do not have to do anything to make that true, because Jesus has already done what made it true. That does not make obedience unimportant. It puts obedience in its right place, as a grateful response to GOD, not a desperate payment toward Him. Live today like someone already accepted, because in Christ, that is exactly who you are.
